Operation Battleaxe - Caunter in 6mm

A quick one, showing the results of caunter, tyres, rusty exhausts and a wash with Coat d'arms Dark Brown Super wash..  pretty happy. Now for the tracks, the infantry figures, and the rest.

  1. I was going to suggest brown.

Perhaps try a lighter one on a set. I used Devlan mud on my 6mm and I think it washed out the colors too much.

That said, your models nice. Makes me miss 6mm a bit. I've been pairing 15mm lately.

  2. Thanks Guys, I don't mind the shade it has come out, at the moment a bit dark, but one thing I will do is go back and drybrush, probably in a very light 'sand' colour so the sharp edges of the models get re-defined, otherwise they become indistinguishable blobs.

The Coat d'arms shade is a bit lighter than the now unobtanium Devlan Mud.. (I have one last bottle reserved for special ocasions) - I also tried an experimental black, and I will try an experimental 'sepia' tone as well. At least with the blog I will remember the steps ;-)
